10th Annual 2FGR Run for Down Syndrome

Back in 2008, in an effort to shed 40lbs., two fat guys began running the streets of Dublin. While crushing their goals, Nanda Nair and Dan Gorner not only developed a passion for running but also discovered a community of like-minded runners. Today, 2 Fat Guys Running (2FGR) is more than just a running group. It is a group of passionate individuals dedicated to improving their community through the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Since 2009, 2FGR has been organizing an annual Run for Down Syndrome.

The Run for Down Syndrome supports Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio’s (DSACO) mission to support families, promote community involvement and encourage a lifetime of opportunities for people with Down syndrome. Funds raised from the run help DSACO provide programs and services to 1,200 families in 23 central Ohio counties.

The run is more than just a 5k and a 10k race. The 200-yard dash for children embodies the true spirit of the event. Run for Down Syndrome is an evening of celebration with numerous fun activities including bounce houses, face painters, a variety of food vendors and even an exhibition of Corvettes! Nearly 1000 people participated in this year’s race to support this wonderful cause.

Even we, at 3SG Plus, ditched our brogues for running shoes.
